A simple, easy-to-follow, year-long Bible reading plan for kids, all in one trifold brochure! This plan includes 24 readings per month (automatically building in “off days,” making it easier for kids to keep up even when the inevitable sickness/travel/busy days get in the way)! Daily readings cover many of the epic adventures in the Old and New Testaments – like the creation of the world, the Exodus, Jesus’ birth and life, and the beginnings of the church – but skip the PG-13 ones so you won’t need to explain incest quiiiite yet. A few Psalms are thrown in for good measure! While this plan doesn’t cover all of the books of the Bible, it does aim to give kids a good fly-over of the big themes, famous families, and deep truths contained in the Bible. Each day’s reading is approximately one chapter (20-30 verses) – with longer chapters spread over a couple of days. These do-able chunks of Scripture are not so long that they feel boring or overwhelming, but also not so short that they don’t even feel worth their while to find the passage.
This is nothing fancy, but it has been exactly what my elementary-age kids have needed to help them get into the Word on their own… and bonus, they’re having enough fun reading, that they want to tell me about what they’re reading, too!
