Reclaimed Perspective: Gifts That Aren’t For You to Keep

If you have talent

healing words

money

a home

leadership skills

time

creativity

energy

wisdom

food

freedom…

Please do not ever hang them in your closet

on your wall

or in your bank.

Please do not show them off,

conscript them into your service,

or aim your sights on getting more.

Keep a loose grip –

open hands –

small attachment.

Because healing is for the broken

and

money is for the poor

and

leadership is for serving

and

talent is for using

and

homes are for refuge.

But they are not for YOU.

They are seeds

placed carefully, intentionally, knowingly in your hands

By the Great Seed Himself

who went into the ground to die

and then to live.

The seeds he gives forge redemption, lasso peace, echo hope…

but only if you use them.

If you pet them,

embrace them,

stare at them…

they tangle and mold and grow dull.

But if you lay them in the ground to die,

the forging of redemption will light the darkness all around.
