We try to do an Advent devotional as a family each year, but I’ve often wished that I also had a super-simple “Thanksgiving-season” devotional that would point our hearts towards gratitude during what can be a very consumeristic couple of months. (Or really, any time of year – because thankfulness is such an important habit to grow in year-round)! And it needs to be quick and easy, partly because this is such a busy season of life, but also because it feels like we only ever have five minutes of calm kid-attention at any one time! Enter… the printable “Thankful Hearts” booklet, with 21 short family devotionals that each include a Bible story about thankfulness, a discussion question, and a prayer prompt. I’m praying that this resource will daily remind you and your family of God’s faithfulness, trustworthiness, power, goodness, and love, and will inspire a daily rhythm of gratitude during an otherwise crazy and sometimes discouraging season of life!
Thankful Hearts: 5-Minute Family Devotions
This printable booklet contains 21 mini family devotionals about thankfulness that will fit into the busiest of schedules. Although short, they give an overview of thankfulness throughout the Old and New Testaments. Each day’s devotional contains a brief Bible reading (for example, a Psalm or the story of the 10 lepers), a response question for discussion, and a prayer prompt. Easy enough to make it a daily habit, and deep enough to shift our hearts toward everyday thankfulness in our conversations, attitudes, and habits.
